Ice Cream Maker Pint Scratching

The Ninja Creami is a consumer ice cream processing machine. The user takes a pre-frozen pint from their freezer, installs it into their Ninja Creami, and processes the pint into ice cream in minutes. In certain circumstances, the blade that processes the ice to ice cream would come into contact with the plastic sidewall of the pint. This would leave mark/plastic shavings into the ice cream. The goal of this project was to reduce the occurrence rate of this fail mode and limit our exposure rate as quicky as possible. Our team was able to develop/validate corrective actions through tolerance stacks, rapid prototyping, and design of experiments.
